Flashback Fridays Vol.21 – Tim Schuldt
This week’s edition of Flashback Fridays features an artist with a particular flavour different from what was often heard in the more mainstream Goa sound: the great German producer Tim Schuldt.
Already playing the guitar at the age of 7 and in metal and grunge bands starting at 12, Schuldt would later shift to the Industrial and Techno scene. In 1995 he started to explore MIDI music production, releasing his first single and starting to play events.
A collaborator with many of the top artists on the scene – X-Dream, Joti Sidhu, Dino Psaras – and with tracks released on a variety of labels such as Aurinko, Atomic, Blue Room, Matsuri (his epic hit masterpiece ‘Inner Child’ is an all-time favourite), and Transient, Schuldt fuses the darker roots of German trance with a dramatic orchestral flavour to create powerful music ideal for consciousness expansion on nighttime dance floors.
The track featured here, Flower Power, certainly isn’t lacking any power. Like much of his output, this storming work features a strong rhythmic framework, cascading arpeggios of beautiful harmonies, angst-filled melodic motifs, and rich textures, all wonderfully engineered and logically structured… music with an emotional range as rich as the synthesized sounds used!
A masterful track by a brilliant producer!
